Drinks / Soups

What I love most about a juice detox is the crazy amount of extra energy it gives to me. Well, the first two days I tend to feel a bit cold (time to have a cup of hot tea or water) and I find it difficult to see someone in my kitchen preparing seducing delicacies….grrrr. That’s  the reason why I decided to substitute at least one juice a day for a bowl of soup. All […]

Breakfast / Drinks

Jason Vale’s Minty Sunshine, Tahini Beaney, and Veggie Power, all freshly juiced and blended!  Except for the pink intruder. I bought it because I wanted the little glass bottle, perfect for take-away…. Nevertheless in comparison to our  fresh juices it was the perfect proof that the difference fresh versus pasteurized is enormous. Minty Sunshine  2 oranges 3 carrots 1-2 cm chunk root ginger 4 sprigs fresh mint a small handful ice cubes Juice all ingredients. Pour […]

7 days of spring detox

Drinks

Hi, dear readers, time is ripe and ready for a spring detox! This year I decided to live on fresh vegetable and fruit juice the biggest part of the detox week: juice/smoothie for breakfast, juices for lunch and teatime. For dinner I’ll skip the juice and have steamed vegetables instead, a creamy soup or a salad. No coffee, no dairy, no carbs. Lots of water and herbal teas. If you’d like to join me, you’ll […]

semi-dried tomatoes overnight

Dinner / Lunch / Snacks

Every now and then the overnight tomatoes make their appearance on various food blogs I follow. They have many fancy names like night blushed tomatoes or moon dried tomatoes, but I think the flavour speaks for itself.  When I talked with my local vegetable shopkeeper about the many possibilities to enjoy the little heirloom tomatoes I remembered the overnight method and promised to share it with him. It’s super easy and the result is […]

Rose Jam

Jams + Preserves

Inspiration and recipe by CHLOE’ SS 2013 and Marmellata di rose. The fact that the pictures of the Chloe dress and the marmellata di rose were so beautiful, the recipe so simple and my own roses in full bloom made me wish to loose not a second to try it (picturing the beautiful images my camera would take in front of my inner eye). First thing in the morning I went out to pick a […]
