My first test eaters were excited about the idea and immediately bubbled over with ideas for more colours and ingredients. We laughed a lot because in German a “medium done” steak is “pink fried”, or Schwarzwurzeln (salsifies) are white but their name actually is “black roots”…
The most challenging colours seemed to be brown (a must nevertheless, because of the beloved chocolate desserts) and black (pure extravaganza!)
This is a project of contemporary artist Sophie Calle. I immediately loved its playfulness and knew I wanted to try it myself . So from tomorrow I will come up with my own six monochromatic meals. Although I must say that the orange Monday with the puré of carrots, the prawns and the cantaloupe comes so close to perfection that I might use the original menu!
Begin the day with a detox tea of your choice and some oatmeal for breakfast. Soaked in rice milk. Or soy milk. Or fruit juice.
Don’t forget sports: I try to swing the hula hoop for 10 minutes at least and force myself to practise yoga on a daily basis. My daughter warmly recommended me to join the fitocracy website for better motivation.
My today’s lunch: roasted fennel, leek and bell pepper, half a glass of “siciliana” tomato sauce with sweet potato/buckwheat noodles

In case you have to shop at Ikea don’t buy yourself a Hot Dog as hungry as you might be (I did #¶¢ƒ…#??¿). Better snack some roasted seeds instead (if you have them at hand, haha!)
The kitchen in progress is constantly on my mind: walls down- done, new window – done, walls – painted. The next step on the list is the wooden floor.
To balance out my excitement and stress of being the construction supervisor I went on a stroll today capturing the wintery vibes.
